In recent years, thanks to the spread of Virtual Reality, the sensation of being immersed in a story has taken on a physical meaning. Gradually, we have gone from turning the pages in which Alice chases the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole to falling into the void with her in Wonderland. This book retraces the stages of this history in which cinema and video games have been notable moments and analyses the immersive strategies implemented in related fields, such as the narration of cultural heritage and contemporary art.
